We have been learning about the right clothes for the occasion.I think I did well with looking up the maori words in the maori dictionary, I think I need to improve on reading and talking maori.

The storm by Springlily Sera Peri

Bang!!!One stormy night , I was sitting in my room looking out my window as the dark clouds stained the horizon with blood as the sun sank. The ferocious wind whirled around my house viciously. Thunder struck through the clouds like daggers. The thunder struck against the power lines as the grey clouds cried. Crash!!!our power went out , my baby brothers cry was like the whistling wind. My mum stomped anxiously , then mumbled “ I don’t think we can go anywhere at the moment”. The pohutukawa tree outside was swaying back and forward like a girls hair. Then suddenly Boom!!!the broccoli like tree fell, I shivered gruesomely . My heart pounded dejectedly as the thunder rumbled. Knock Knock!!! My mum couldn't see where she was going and bumped into the shelf. “What are you doing mum?” I whispered. She replied in a hurt tone “going to the door”, Then Suddenly mum reached the door and opened it. Then papa was there standing outside soaked to the bone.” well I better get out my torch” papa mumbled then all of a sudden papa’s torch was asbright as the moon at night then that night papa yelled above the storm”Come girl get in the car you can come stay with me and your mum for a while” my mum nodded then papa growled” Well hurry up then pack some clothes for you and your kids. Then me and my mum and baby brother stayed at my nana’s and papa’s house for while.
